The first time it happened to me, I thought it was harmless. Sometimes, the victory screen will just skip. The catch? It makes you lose all the EXP from a battle. You can keep playing when it happens to you. But there is another bug, also fixable by reloading, where it is not indispensable to do it. So I was forced to surrender.Īll of these were times were I had to restart because that was the only way to advance. Hilariously, I could still use skills on myself, like Sanctuary Score, but I could not use anything to damage the enemies. When I tried to attack an enemy, nothing would happen when clicking on them. I clicked on it just to see what would happen, then canceled and went back. There was also this other time were I was attempting a hard fight, and noticed the surrender button. When I reloaded, I killed them as fast as I could, and this time, it worked. And where the thieves were standing, there was the questing blue circle, mocking me. But one does not simply escape The Bugged Tale. "Surely this will trigger the change in the quest", I thought. This time, I had to manually pick them up. When it was over, I saw the coats on the ground. I kept paying them again and again, filling up my inventory with infinite coats. I still had "Retrieve the coats" as my objective. I paid them because it was the fastest route. When you find them, you can kill them, or pay them for the coats. Then, much, much later in the game, you have these 3 women that ask you to go find some thieves that took their coats. This time, just to be sure, I didn't use the shrink song, and I was able to beat the boss without crashing again. When my turn came again, they started growing back to normal, while taking damage from the fire. I started the fight by shrinking them, and on their turn, they all caught fire by attacking my fire aura from Kael's Rudiment. When I got to the top, the boss there ambushed me, 4 powerful paladins. Thus was the first time I had to reload the game, but it wouldn't be the last.Īs I went on adventuring, I found this optional dungeon called the Sentry Tower. I had to Alt+F4 out of the game, beat the boss again, and pray that it didn't happen again, which fortunately, it didn't. After everything passed, and I could now calmly read that note, I noticed something. I then picked up a note from a table, and just as I was reading it, the "quest completed" message popped up, all while Dalgliesh was talking. So, it all started when Dalgliesh joined my party, I entered Paladin Tavish's house, and I beat the first boss battle of the game, a cultist with a whopping 60 health. The story of what happened to me, as I played this game. In fact, I think that the true reason why everytime you save the game it saves on a different slot, is so that whenever it crashes, you can load the backup you prefer to recover the lost progress. I seriously recommend this game to anyone that has never played a first person RPG before.īut, the bugs were a serious (and hilarious) issue. dear god, I love the songs that play during battles. Wringneck's bad puns and Dalgliesh's reactions were hilarious. The world building is amazing, the dungeon crawling with traps and puzzles is great, the battle system is fun, and the characters feel alive thanks to the incredible voice acting and random chatter your party does while you are walking around. Bugs that made my experience a lot worse than it should have. And today, I finally completed it after 46 hours. Everything was "fixed crashes", "fixed bugs", "optimized a lot of things to reduce gpu usage and loading times". It took a whole month to get all 3 out, but the patch notes looked promising. When I saw this, I decided to wait until then to start playing. But then, the developers released a statement, saying that they would fix all of these issues in 3 patches. Everyone complained about crashes and bugs, and bombarded the game with so many negative reviews on Steam, it hasn't even recovered yet.
